  DPRCG 2024 Convocation
November 6-8
Grove Park Inn
Asheville, NC

Among the many tangible benefits of DPRCG membership, one of the greatest is the annual DPRCG Convocation. It provides an unparalleled event for attendees to network with true peers and focus on new solutions to the myriad of challenges faced by large firms. DPRCG’s Convocation is an annual industry-leading conference attended by more than 90% of DPRCG member firms each year, with a majority of firms represented by multiple attendees.  The sharing among like-minded, risk-aware professionals is a unique experience!

The Convocation kicks off with day-long leadership Forums on Wednesday that provide firm leaders in risk management, legal and financial operations the opportunity to discuss of-the-moment trends and issues in a peer-lead, confidential setting. These Forums sell out quickly, so reserve your spot early! The following day and a half consist of keynote speakers, main stage presentations, and various breakout sessions.  All events, including the networking lunches and receptions, are tailored to provide the opportunity to discuss the issues that are most important to you while gaining new insights for developing stronger risk management practices.

Excursions:
November 7, 2024 - Asheville Art Safari with Wine Tasting (12:30-4:30pm)- Guest or Spouse Outing
Arrive at the Asheville River Arts District, the hip and upcoming warehouse-turned-art-district along the French Broad River. There are over 100 artists in the district representing almost every possible artistic medium. More than 65 prominent artists are regularly open every day of the week and they welcome groups into their studios to talk with them, see their latest artwork, and to watch live demonstrations. Popular artists with our aficionados in the past have included glass blowers, potters, metal workers and textile artists, but our guide will make appointments with at least three prominent artists who are more willing to demonstrate their craft and are open to communicate about their techniques and works to our groups. Before returning to the hotel, we will also make a stop at a cooperative art gallery that represents hundreds of artists where the guests get to shop for local crafts and works of art. Before returning to the hotel, we will make a stop at the pleb urban winery for a private group production tour and wine tasting. The pleb urban winery is a production winery in Asheville's River Arts District that produces small batch craft wines. The winemakers use an Old-World approach to produce organic, natural and minimal intervention wines using locally sourced grapes. Their taproom also offers a selection of guest wines and beers on tap.

Friday, November 8, 2024 - Biltmore Estate Day Tour (12:00 - 5:00pm)
En route, our guide will give your group a windscreen tour of Asheville and provide you with an informative and entertaining background about the history of Asheville, the impact of George Vanderbilt and his Biltmore Estate on the region, and Asheville's phenomenal Art Deco architecture
Self-Guided Tour of the Biltmore House & Estate Gardens.
America's largest home is the centerpiece of Biltmore Estate. George Vanderbilt, the youngest son of an American family famous for its wealth, opened his country retreat in 1895. His guests marveled at the magnificent residence containing 34 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces covering four acres of floor space. Vanderbilt traveled the world to furnish his home: art by Renoir, Whistler, and Sargent; exquisite 16th-century tapestries; and 24,000 books in seven languages. This afternoon, you can enjoy a self-guided visit through more than 60 rooms carefully preserved by Vanderbilt's descendants, rooms appearing as they did a century ago. After exiting the Biltmore House, individuals in the group can choose between walking through the Biltmore Estate Gardens or shop in the Stable Arcade adjacent to the Biltmore House.
Self-Guided Tour of Biltmore's Antler Hill Village & Winery.
Located between the Winery and River Bend Farm is Antler Hill Village, a development on Biltmore Estate that includes an exhibition space, village green with live entertainment, dining, shopping, and a new outdoor adventure center. The pedestrian-friendly village encompasses the Winery, Historic Barn and interpretive Farm Area, as well as Biltmore's Kitchen Garden. The nation's most-visited winery is housed in Biltmore's original dairy, renovated into a modern facility producing award-winning wines. Preserving the Estate's agricultural legacy, the Winery offers glimpses into the winemaking process, wine tastings, and a Wine Shop with a wide selection of gourmet foods, coffees, and giftware in addition to the Biltmore Estate Wines.
